Compacted, level house pad cut to grade on a sloped lot near Prescott

House Pads done right in Williamson Valley Heights

We cut to the surveyed grade, remove the unsuitable material, then bring the pad up in lifts and compact each one to spec. On rock we rip and shape rather than fight it, and we set the pad so water drains away from the building instead of pooling against it.

A level, compacted pad that holds elevation, passes compaction testing, and is ready for your slab or stem wall on the day you scheduled the pour.

Site work builders can
schedule around

Crews and GCs lean on us because the pad comes in to grade, the schedule holds, and the work passes inspection. No surprises on the job site.

Pads and grades cut to plan, compacted, and finished so the slab goes down clean and the work passes inspection.

The ground in Williamson Valley Heights

On a hillside lot up here we cut the pad into the slope, over-excavate the granite shelf, and build it back in compacted lifts so the home sits level with the drainage falling downhill and away.

Williamson Valley Heights takes its name from its ground: the higher benches along the Williamson Valley corridor, where lots climb for elevation and the views that come with it. Building up on these rises means more slope and more exposure than the flatter parcels down in the valley. Owners here are after the vantage, and the site work has to earn it.

Up on the heights the ground is decomposed granite over hard rock shelves, and the grade is steeper than the valley floor, so a level pad means real cut into the slope. Higher, more exposed ground catches the full weight of monsoon runoff and moves it downhill fast, so drainage above and around the envelope is not optional. Access up to a hillside lot has to be cut carefully to a grade that holds.

A home perched up on the heights gains the view but takes the slope, the rock, and the runoff that comes with elevation. Building on this ground rewards a licensed contractor who can hold a pad level on a hillside and route the water downhill around the house, because a slope handled wrong shows up fast up here.

Our lot wouldn't drain. DB regraded it and installed a drainage system, handled the rock without drama, and stayed on budget. Excellent work.
